DANA WETHERELL: CAREER EXPERIENCE
Dana has a degree in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University. She worked for CA Cofer at his wholesale tack company, Western Heritage, for several years as a sales associate. She was responsible for attending market trade shows and in-house sales.
She was then offered a position with Koch Industries in Wichita, KS as a grain trading accountant. When Koch purchased Purina Mills, Dana was promoted to the Micro Nutrient Supply Buyer. She was responsible for procuring all the micro nutrients for over 40 Purina Mills plants, purchasing on average, $300 million in product each month.
Dana's need to be involved with horses won out over the fast paced life in corporate America. In 1999, she made the decision to accept a huge cut in pay to follow her heart as Breeding & Barn Manager for Wes Wetherell Performance Horses. That turned out to be a lifechanging decision in more than one way. Wes & Dana married in 2002. In 2005 Wes phased out the breeding & founded Wes Wetherell Hay Company.
She was a board member with the OkQHA amateur association from 2012-2013.
